WHAT TO EXPECT
Sessions with Eileen run for 50 minutes. The first session is usually spent assessing the difficulties that bring you to therapy. Eileen will complete an assessment, and collaboratively, you and Eileen will decide on your therapy goals.
As sessions progress, you will start working towards your goals during and in-between your appointments. The number of sessions required can vary, depending on the complexity of the issues being addressed.
Medicare Rebates:
Eileen is registered as an accredited mental health social worker through Medicare. A rebate of $74.80 can be claimed through Medicare. 10 sessions can be claimed every calendar year.
To be eligible for a Medicare rebate, you will need to be referred to Eileen by a GP or psychiatrist. As part of this process, your GP will complete a Mental Health Care Plan. Let your GP clinic know that you are seeking a Mental Health Care Plan when you book your appointment so they can allocate more time for this process. Your doctor will then either provide you with the referral, or send it directly to Eileen. If the referral has been passed to you, bring it to your first appointment.
